Operations Director

  • Objective

    Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Operations will have primary responsibility for providing leadership oversight as well as administrative direction to Finance, Business Processes, Compliance & Legal and IT&BI teams.

     

    Focused on leading operational excellence and ensuring that the business achieves the objectives to grow and maintains its best-in-class reputation in their field. This position is accountable for the development, and implementation of short and long-term initiatives required to support strategic business goals implementation.  It is also expected to build talent capability within Operations teams through leadership development, mentoring and motivation while driving accountability through all levels of the Organization. The Operations Director is a key decision maker in all areas of responsibility and a partner of the Executive team in the development and execution of the overall strategic plan.

    The ideal candidate will be driven by building structure and setting goals that help maintain alignment of the organization to the strategic and operational objectives of the company. A highly skilled communicator and negotiator, they will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with an established customer base, highly focused on quality and service.

     

     

    Key Responsabilities

    • Direct procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and daily business and administrative operations that maximize operational efficiency and general business operations.
    • Develop, recommend, implement and evaluate operational policies and procedures for all areas of responsibility ensuring they are in compliance with regulations and laws governing business operations.
    • Assess and enhance the efficiency of internal and external operational processes;
    • Direct and inspire volunteers to key into the vision of management;
    • Direct policies that improve and promote company vision and culture;
    • Evaluate company performance and recommend strategies to improve results;
    • Directing IT plans, schedules, policies and programs for the organization’s data processing, network communications, business operations, computer services and management information systems according to established goals and objectives;
    • Evaluate and ensure the appropriate use and update of all systems.
    • Oversee records management to ensure documents processing/filing, chart retrievals, and others;
    • Oversee appropriate accounts receivable processing, payable and collections.
    • Direct operational forecasting and projection reports.
    • Responsible for the IT management team towards a Customer Service orientated, customer focused function that supports ongoing operations to drive efficiency, quality, customer service and growth;

     

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or industry-relevant equivalent;
    • Proven experience in a senior executive role;
    • In-depth understanding of the industry and the different departments of a company, including Finance, IT and Business Processes
    • Excellent leadership and organizational skills;
    • Knowledge of accounting, financial analysis and data analysis;
    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills;
    • English and Portuguese Proficiency
    • Strategic planning and budget management;
